Explore Mandalika: Discover Culinary Flavors from Across Indonesia at Pawon Nusantara

MANDALIKA – The Mandalika area is not only known as the home of the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, but also as a tourism destination that offers a variety of exciting experiences for visitors. One of them is Pawon Nusantara, a restaurant that presents a wide range of traditional culinary delights from various islands across Indonesia in one place.
At Pawon Nusantara, visitors can enjoy a variety of traditional menus from different regions in Indonesia. From specialties of Java, Sumatra, and Kalimantan to local Lombok cuisine, the restaurant offers a diverse culinary experience that complements tourism activities in the Mandalika area. One of the most popular dishes among visitors is Ayam Taliwang, a Lombok specialty known for its rich spicy and savory flavors, and widely recognized as one of the region’s culinary icons.
In addition to offering diverse Indonesian dishes, Pawon Nusantara also regularly hosts a program called “Island Exploration”, a special event that introduces both the culinary richness and cultural heritage of various Indonesian islands. Through this program, visitors are invited to discover distinctive dishes from different regions, ranging from Sumatra and Kalimantan to many other islands across the archipelago.
Pawon Nusantara staff member Ayu Veronica explained that several dishes have become visitor favorites because they bring authentic regional flavors from across Indonesia.
“The most popular menu items at Pawon Nusantara include Lombok’s Ayam Taliwang, Pekanbaru-style grilled fish, and also Minang rendang from Sumatra. Many visitors come here to experience the diverse flavors of Indonesian cuisine in one place,” said Ayu Veronica.
Meanwhile, Priandhi Satria, President Director of PT Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), the company appointed by InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to manage the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, stated that the diversity of culinary destinations in the Mandalika area plays an important role in building a complete tourism experience for visitors.
“We want The Mandalika area to become a connected ecosystem where different attractions support each other. Visitors who come for activities at the Mandalika Circuit or to enjoy other attractions in the area can also explore various experiences, including culinary tourism such as Pawon Nusantara,” said Priandhi Satria.
Priandhi Satria added that the combination of motorsport, natural tourism, and culinary experiences is expected to further attract both domestic and international tourists to visit Lombok.
“After enjoying various activities and experiences at the Mandalika Circuit, tourists can continue their journey by exploring restaurants, attractions, and other interesting destinations around Mandalika. This is what we hope will further strengthen Mandalika’s appeal as a sport tourism and integrated tourism destination in Indonesia,” he concluded.
